This essential oil powerhouse is cold pressed from lemon rinds to preserve its delicate nature and potent properties. Lemon is known as a powerful aromatic, topical, and internal cleanser and can also be used to cleanse the air, uplift mood, and enhance the flavor of desserts and main dishes.

PRIMARY BENEFITS
• Cleanses and purifies the air and surfaces
• Naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion when added to drinking water*
• Supports healthy respiratory function*
• Promotes a positive mood when diffused

USES
• Take internally to assist with seasonal respiratory discomfort.*
• Add Lemon oil to a spray bottle of water to clean tables, countertops, and other surfaces. Lemon oil also makes a great furniture polish; simply add a few drops to olive oil to clean, protect, and shine wood finishes.
• Use a cloth soaked in Lemon oil to preserve and protect your leather furniture and other leather surfaces or garments.
• Lemon oil is a great remedy for the early stages of tarnish on silver and other metals.
• Diffuse to create an uplifting environment.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with dōTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.  Avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying product. Statements with asterisks refer to internal use. All others refer to aromatic or topical use.

Experienced essential oil peeps were asked how they use Lemon essential oil.  Here are just a few (out of almost 300!) of their responses ...
  • I clean our microwave with couple drops of lemon in a bowl of water, microwave for 2 minutes and easily wipe away crud. It's the best! Safe, easy and smells great!
  • It's too long of a story, but melted green crayon in the very nice RV carpet. I had nothing to lose, since if I didn't get it out, I would have to have new carpet installed. Maybe 50 QTips and a bottle of lemon oil later, it looked like new! Miraculous!
  • I love to diffuse 2 drops lemon, 2 drops bergamot, and 2 drops wild orange for a nice clean citrus uplifting smell. Perks up the mood.
  • I'm diffusing it today to help purify the air after my dogs decided to roll in the neighbor's trash! Did I mention it was full of shrimp shells!!??! Can you say Ewww? A few showers for the dogs with diluted Protective Blend Cleaner Concentrate and lemon in the diffusers, it smells like a whole other house!
  • Glass cleaner: distilled water, vinegar and lemon. My mirrors and Windows have never looked so fabulous
  • I add a couple of drops of Lemon oil to my mop bucket. Just boiling hot water and lemon oil to mop floors brings them up streak free and it smells delicious.
  • I use lemon peppermint and lavender under my feet and on my chest for a good night sleep!
  •  Great for taking off labels and glue. Spritz counters with lemon and water vinegar mix. Drink in my water and green smoothie. Just treated all my wooden spoons with it on a cotton ball. Kitchen smells great!
  • I put 2 drops of lemon in my first glass of water each morning (as soon as I get up, before eating). It's a mini-daily cleanse.
  • This morning I removed sealant (?) that was smeared on the side of my tub since the day it was installed. For 3 years I've been scrubbing it with bleach and abrasive cleaners when all it needed was 2 drops of lemon on a cotton ball.
  • Love diffusing lemon and eucalyptus, tastes great in water, jazzes up vinaigrettes and takes sticky tape and tags off quick.
  •  I like adding a few drops of lemon in my glass water bottle! Also, last week I used 4 drops lemon,4 drops wild orange & 1 T. liquid Castile soap in my mop bucket. The whole house smelled lovely by the time we were done cleaning!
  • Used it this morning for the bottom of my trash can with baking soda and then I put a few drops on my wrists with my perfume( essential oil blend) and inhaled it - oh does it help my mind and mental health!!!!!
  • Diffuse lemon in my kitchen to get rid of food smells! Love it alone or with a drop of peppermint.
  • Hubby's greasy hands! He used to have to use such a harsh chemical cleaner to get the grease off, now he washes his hands with soap & water first, then we drop 2-3 drops of lemon in his palm and he rubs it all over his hands. It is like magic
  • Being short I don't clean the top of stove hood as much as I probably should... same with the top of my refrigerator. Lemon oil in a spray bottle works like like magic!!! It cuts through the crud super fast!!
  • Lemon and olive oil bring my wood furniture to life! Drink in my water daily! Love it in my Guacamole with cilantro oil! When life gives you lemon make everything with it and then the lemonade!
  • Use it in a spray bottle along with water and eucalyptus and spray it on my dog. Gnats, fleas, and ticks have had to find another home. Just be sure not to get near the eyes. To do the head Area, I spray it on my hand and rub it on
  • We sometimes use Lemon essential oil to clean the dry erase board at work. Great to just diffuse as well.
  • I use it for sugar scrub! I get some rough spots on my hands and started using lemon! My hands are smooth, clean and smell great!
  • Every day I have at least one hot lemon water ... 3-5 drops with slight teaspoon sugar and hot water. I ALMOST like it better than my fancy coffees!
  • I add it to my front load washer when I've left laundry in there a little too long (oops!!) no more stinky clothes!
  • I put a couple drops of lemon oil and vinegar in the diffuser at night as we are going to bed. In the morning the air is fresh with no hint of vinegar in the air just clean.
  • I add the oil directly to the glass shower door , rub it around with my fingers , let it sit for 20 min or so while I clean the rest of the bathroom .then I use a microfiber cloth and rub a bit , then I rinse off .
  • I use I to clean our Berkey water filter, its stainless steal. Makes it shine beautifully and I don't have to worry about chemicals near our water. Ironically, the berkey distills all the water I use to make homemade cleaners with essential oils!
  •  When cutting back my Rosemary plant, the sap that won't wash off with soap and water comes off instantly with lemon! 💕🏼
  • Just used lemon essential oil when I realized that my dinner called for lemons & i didn't have any. Lemon drops worked great!
  • I like to add lemon oil to my wash. It help take the funk out of towels that have been sitting damp in a hamper all week.
  • I use it to clean my faucets.... super shiny. Add a couple of drops to my polish rah. Good as new! I also add a couple of drops to steaming hot water as I mop up my hard wood floors. Boy oh boy -- smells great!!
  • My son was drawing a picture on his pumpkin before carving and made a mistake. I put some lemon eo on a cottonball and it came right off!
  • I use it to get the sharpie off my skin after a competitive sporting event in minutes - that used to take me literally a week of scrubbing with soap and water!
  • Vinegar, baking soda and a few drops of lemon are the best toilet cleaner ever.
  •  Lavender and lemon in diffuser at bedtime!!

how to choose essential oils (part one)

I get a lot of questions about why I chose doTERRA.  When I can buy "oils" at Wally World -- really cheaply! -- why bother with anything else? (Trick question:  the "oils" sold at Wally World and other mass marketers are either 100% impure synthetic fragrance oils or are diluted with synthetics or not even the oil that is stated on the label!)

So ... here's PART ONE of a mini-series about what sets my brand apart.  As we go through this series you’ll get a better picture for yourself of these things:
  •  Quality & Trust
  •  Commitment to Indigenous Plants
  •  Sourcing - why it matters
  •  Charitable Foundation
  •  Why the community you join through matters

Let's start with QUALITY & TRUST ...

There are no regulations or certifications when it comes to essential oils. Some people are upset by this, but I think of it this way:  When was the last time that government got involved with something and made it better?

Because standards were non-existent, doTERRA came up with its own internal standard and certification of therapeutic potency and purity.  It's called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade.  Our standards regulate how a plant is grown, harvested, distilled, and delivered. This standard is the highest in the industry, back by a company I've researched and observed to have the highest integrity.

Doesn't it come down to one core value:  trust?  Because of my own experiences, plus those of my oily tribe and my own research, I trust doTERRA to carry through on their promises of delivering the most pure, highest quality, most consistent for key chemical composition, most safe and therapeutically useful oils.  Why would I waste money on something I truly -- daily! -- depend on?

More to the point, why would you?

With doTERRA you are getting:
  • Oils from research-backed plant varieties grown in their native (indigenous) habitat
  • Oils that are certified pure because each batch is tested to be free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides
  • Oils that are consistent because they are carefully harvested from the right plants at the right time
  • Oils produced through exact and careful distillation using the right temperature, time, and pressure unique to each plant
  • Oils that never have any fillers, synthetic additives, or improper plant parts
  • Oils that are certified by third-party testing of every batch to ensure the most pure and potent

Read more about why SOURCING (where the plant comes from, how it's harvested and distilled, etc.) is so important here.

Bottom line:  not all essential oils are created equal.  The plant  -- and even growing location of the plant -- matters.  The precision of harvesting matters.  Distillation practices matters.  Testing matters.  With many brands, you can't even trust oils to be what the label says it is (it is often synthetic fragrance oil or a fairy dusting of EO plus mostly cheaper oils ... or not at all the oil on the label!) ... who do YOU trust?

Read PART TWO about the importance of plant selection, region it's grown and harvesting.

The main chemical component of Clary Sage is linalyl acetate (part of the esters group), making it one of the most relaxing, soothing, and balancing essential oils. Known for its uplifting and mood-lightening attributes, clary sage is also widely used by women to soothe monthly discomfort associated with their menstrual cycles. It was also studied by noted expert Robert Tisserand for its mood-enhancing properties during massage.

USES
• During your menstrual cycle, rub three to five drops on the abdomen for a soothing massage.
• Combine with Roman Chamomile and add to bath water for a stress-relieving bath.
• Diffuse or apply to pillow at night for a restful sleep.
• Combine with Fractionated Coconut Oil to massage, soothe, or rejuvenate skin.
• Apply one to two drops to the bottom of feet or pulse points.
• Add three to four drops to shampoo or conditioner to promote healthy-looking hair and scalp.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Diffusion: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
Internal use: Dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid.
Topical use: Apply one to two drops to desired area. Dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.
CAUTION:  This is the one oil that should not be used during pregnancy.

Seasoned essential oil users were asked how they use Clary Sage.  Here's a few responses:
  • I'm diffusing clary sage, grounding blend, lemon and lime right now and it is absolutely amazing. Maintaining balanced emotions while getting a slight pick me up!
  • I add two drops clary sage and one drop geranium to unscented body lotion. Heavenly!
  • Diffusing Clary Sage + Geranium makes my entire home smell like a gorgeous flower shop - love it!
  • I have been exploring this oil for a few weeks now, in the diffuser and in my aromatherapy necklace.  I feel it has really supported my emotions and discomfort..and my response to them. I love that this oil smells both floral and herbal!
  • I love Clary Sage. I use in in my diffuser, in my diffuser necklace, and I also use it to close my yoga classes when my yogis are in final relaxation. I find it mixes well in my diffuser with Cedarwood, Vetiver & other Earthy oils.
  •  I diffuse with Patchouli and Bergamot!! It is heavenly!!
  •  I add 2 drops in my bath blend with 8 drops of lavender and 1-2 cups of Epsom salts and 1/2 cup baking soda! Smells and feels amazing!
  • Clary sage helps me be a nicer person.....hormones....  :-)
  • Smells great with White Fir, Lavender and Vetiver the most restful sleep
