quick question: sinuses

A question was asked and several responses offered by essential oil users:
What to do to support clear sinus passages?
  • Heat up some water, enough to fill a coffee mug. Heat it up enough to make the steam flow up from the top. When done with that, pour it in the mug. Then add 2 drops of lemon, 1 drop of peppermint, 1 drop of oregano, 1 drop of melaleuca. Sit down and close your eyes and hold the steamy cup several inches away from your face bringing it closer gradually as it cools. Breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth. Be careful in the beginning!  Have tissues handy!
  • Eucalyptus in a roller on your sinuses. Under eyes and forehead.
  • I like using DigestZen over cheeks and forehead.
  • Love eucalyptus with spearmint in a rollerball.
  • Breathe in a rollerball over the sinuses.
  • Not EO, but a sinus rinse like "Ocean" is great.  I do the rinse and then Peppermint around my nose and it's very effective!
  • Peppermint in a rollerball first, then with Melaleuca and finally Frankincense.  Also hit the areas around each ear and the lymph nodes under the jaw.  Rub the oils down toward your neck and throat to encourage draining.  Sometimes I add  OnGuard.
  • I use 5 drops each : eucalyptus , respiratory blend, peppermint and OnGuard, in a roller ball with fractionated coconut oil. I love it across my cheeks and under my nose.
  • A roller ball blend of Rosemary, Melaleuca, OnGuard, Oregano, Frankincense, and Lemon topped off with FCO (7-8 drops of each) - Rub on the bottom of the feet and over sinuses.
  • Make a nasal inhaler.  Empty ones are cheap and can be bought on Amazon.  I have a couple for sinus/respiratory:  one is 2 drops each of OnGuard, Breathe and Melaleuca.  Another is 2 drops each of Peppermint, Basil and Rosemary.  Lasts for several months and can be refreshed through the hole in the top.  Cheap, effective and I can carry them in my purse!
  • In a veggie cap:  3 drops Rosemary, 3 drops OnGuard and 3 drops Frankincense take 2 - 3 times daily, usually just a day or two will clear it up.  Add 1 - 2 drops Oregano if a Big Gun is needed.
  •  Capsules of lemon, lavender and peppermint (2 - 3 drops each) as it seems the body needs it and a drop of protective blend in a shot glass of water, gargle and swallow.
  • OnGuard Protective Throat Drops!
  • If the throat is raw from drainage:  about 1 - 2 teaspoons of honey, 2 drops each of peppermint and lemon plus about 1/4 cup of water -- heat in microwave for warm soothing peppermint "tea"
